What Is Audio Normalization?
Audio normalization is the process of adjusting the volume of an audio file to a consistent, target loudness level. Unlike simple volume boosting (which just raises the gain), normalization uses integrated loudness measurement (LUFS — Loudness Units relative to Full Scale) to analyze the perceived loudness of the entire track and apply the precise gain needed to hit your target.
This is the same standard used by Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and broadcast networks worldwide. Our tool uses the EBU R128 standard via the Web Audio API — the same algorithm used in professional broadcast engineering.
